Places to visit in Ibiza

The best time to travel to Ibiza is from May to October. We especially recommend coming in July and August, which are the months when the island is at its peak with a great atmosphere, international crowds and good energy… Everything is at its best, the beaches, nightclubs, beach clubs, etc. You’ll find wonderful people everywhere you go in Ibiza! However, if you prefer a completely peaceful atmosphere without many people, we also recommend the winter months, although bear in mind that many businesses, such as bars, restaurants and nightclubs, will be closed.

Here are some places you can’t miss if you come to the white island.

Eivissa

Strolling through the streets of the historic centre of Dalt Vila (declared a World Heritage Site and surrounded by a 16th-century wall) is undoubtedly one of the island’s must-see attractions.

As you explore the narrow streets and corners of this old neighbourhood, you will come across beautiful places such as the cathedral, the Plaza de la Vila, the town hall, as well as art galleries, restaurants, bars and clothing and craft shops.

As you climb, you will find several bastions offering breathtaking views of the city and the sea, as well as the Punic necropolis of Puig des Molins, one of the best preserved in the world.

Not to mention that this area offers a wide range of nightlife with several bars and pubs, where you can see nightclub promoters walking around and advertising.

Es Vedrá

Es Vedrá is one of the most magical places on the island and a must-see. It is a 382-metre-high islet located 2 kilometres off the coast and forms part of a natural park.

Next to it is its smaller sibling, Es Vedranell, and together they form a beautiful islet surrounded by an aura of mystery and legends. At sunset, hundreds of tourists and locals gather on the magnificent Cala D’Hort beach and at the various viewpoints to watch one of the best sunsets and enjoy one of the best views of Ibiza.

Cala D’Hort beach is a charming place to take a dip and visit its photogenic wooden jetty. Next to the beach is the El Carmen restaurant, where you can enjoy a delicious meal. Nearby is also the Torre de Es Savinar, one of the best-preserved defence towers in Ibiza, offering the most complete views of Es Vedrá.

The white island is full of wonderful places and corners; it would be impossible to summarise them all in a list. The best thing is to discover Ibiza spontaneously, because you never know what you are going to find.

Las Dalias, Ibiza

If you love markets, you’ll love this one. Pure hippie style, Las Dalias market, located in the town of Sant Carles, is another of the best things to do in Ibiza.

It has more than 200 stalls and is held every Saturday from 10:00 to 20:00, although in summer it also opens on Mondays and Tuesdays from 19:00 to 1:00. Most of the items you can find there are crafts, clothing, jewellery, records and decorations.

You can eat and drink on the terraces or, if you prefer, you can drive to the popular Bar Anita. At Las Dalias you can also enjoy live music during the day and continue into the night at the Akasha nightclub.

Ses Salines Natural Park

The Ses Salines Natural Park, which stretches from the south of the island to the north of Formentera, is another of Ibiza’s must-see attractions.

This protected area covers 16,000 hectares, 13,000 of which are marine, and surprises visitors with its ancient salt flats, enormous biodiversity, crystal-clear beaches and seabeds teeming with life.

One of its beaches is Ses Salines, considered by some to be one of the most beautiful on the island, notable for its dunes and very clean waters, thanks to Posidonia Oceanica, an aquatic plant characteristic of this park and included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. This beach is full of beach bars such as Beso Beach, Noho Beach and Sa Trinxa, where it is common to see celebrities hanging out.

Nearby is another beach, Es Cavallet, protected by sand dunes and known for being a nudist beach.

In this natural park, we mustn’t forget Es Codolar beach, Sa Sal Rossa cove and the defensive towers of Es Carregador and Ses Portes.
